The Case Foundation is putting a 'spotlight' on interesting projects that promote a participatory culture in our communities.
We've won some and could Win More:
I'm really fortunate that our little region has one of those 'spotlights' on it. Our Deliberative Democracy project has won $10,000, and we have a real chance to win another $25,000.
Why we need this?
That money would go a long way to support the activities in our 9 town area over the next year. For example that would fund the salary of the coordinator who is the real spark that helps bring people together. It would help fund the annual Issues Convention where hundreds of neighbors come together for a day of learning, questioning, exploring and consensus building. Its a remarkable experience. (Our next one is May 3rd, 2008)
